Business Insider was the first of a multitude of publications to jump on these photos from Terminus Hotel.
After publishing my Gallery of the long abandoned Terminus Hotel . It started to go viral within the first 20 minutes of being live. Over then next fortnight or so, the post would go on to reach over 800,000 people on Facebook alone.
I remember a colleague at work commented to me that at least a dozen of his friends of who we have no connection whatsoever have also shared the Facebook post to their profiles.
I was both surprised and not in the interest. It’s a very popular local talking point. Rightfully so.
One one hand, I always thought the topic of Terminus Hotel in itself is so intriguing, given so many people know of the beautiful, old, abandoned, federation style pub with its cloak of green creeper vines, but no one knows the story. Well, not fully anyway
Let’s face it, any knowledge around the motivations of the Wakils are only fully understood by the Wakils. Everything else is speculation.
It was incredible to see the conversation unfold. It’s very difficult to express how thankful I am through an online post, for all the supportive feedback I receive from people who see and appreciate my work.
I wish I could meet everyone who likes what I do to say thanks, but unfortunately, the world and social media aren’t like that. I do appreciate it, though.

The heritage-listed building on Harris Street in Pyrmont was built around 1865 and was originally named Coopers Arms Inn.
